Located in a former art deco gas station, Glass Station (318 Main St., Wakefield, 401/788-2500, www.ebenhortonglass.com, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Tue.–Sat.)—get it?—is now the studio-gallery of glassblower Eben Horton, who creates vases inspired by ocean waves and whimsical glass fish. Inside an old diner car, Kiddie Closet (329 Main St., Wakefield, 401/783-8680, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. daily) is heaven to cash-strapped parents (as if there were any other kind) with rack after rack of sporting clothing, strollers, books, and more. In the 19th-century historic home of a blacksmith, Fayerweather House (1859 Mooresfield Rd./Rte. 138, South Kingstown, 401/789-9072, www.fayerweatherhouse.8m.net, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Tue.–Sat. mid-May–Dec.) is now a craft center selling hooked rugs, woven baskets, and other handmade items. A team of five artists throws the clay at Peter Pots Pottery (494 Glen Rock Rd, W. Kingston, 401/783-2350, www.peterpotspottery.com, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Mon.–Sat.; 1–4 p.m. Sun.), which has been producing distinctive stoneware for over 50 years.
