Among the many boutiques worth poking around in at Tiverton Four Corners, The Metal Works (3940 Main Rd., Tiverton, 401/624-4400) is both shop and studio producing unique copper lanterns, weathervanes, and garden statuary.
Tucked into a backside of the Little Compton Commons, the Commons Cottage Gallery (7 South of Commons) has high-quality local art at reasonable prices.
Wilbur’s General Store (50 The Commons, Little Compton, 401/635-2356, 7:30 a.m.–7 p.m. Tues–Sun., closed Sun.) is a reminder of life before Home Depot and Wal-Mart, a small shop stuffed with groceries, housewares, beach pails, hardware, and a deli counter with gourmet foodstuffs.
