Under the same ownership and joined with Earthly Treasures Home & Garden Accessories gift store, the Iron Horse Metal Works (150 Lake St., Bristol, 603/744-5331, www.earthlytreas.com, 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Mon.–Fri.; 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sat.; 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Sun.) is a busy studio that produces wrought-iron sconces, lamps, tables, and planters. Visit the Metal Works to watch them being made, then purchase them in the abutting store, along with hand-crafted cedar furniture, fine art, pottery, art glass, and candles.
In the market for a seaworthy work of art? Newfound Woodworks, Inc. (67 Danforth Brook Rd., Bristol, 603/744-6872, www.newfound.com, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Wed.; 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sat.; closed Thurs. and Sun.) is as much museum as it is boatmaker; stop by and admire (or buy) the small company’s beautiful cedar canoes, kayaks, and row boats.
