Late-night cramming takes on new meaning at Ramunto’s Brick ’N Brew Pizzeria (9 South St., Hanover, 603/643-9500, www.bricknbrew.com, 11 a.m.–midnight Mon.–Sat.; noon–midnight Sun., $6–8), home to extra-greasy, thin-crusted pies served on red-checked tablecloths. The garlic and cinnamon knots are a snack beloved by students.

Snug in the corner of the Dartmouth Green, the 99-seat Irish pub Murphy’s on the Green (11 South Main St., Hanover, 603/643-4075, www.murphysonthegreen.com, 11:30 a.m.–10:30 p.m. Mon.–Thurs.; 11:30 a.m.–12:30 a.m. Sat.; 11:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. Sun., $15–22) serves students and professors an inexpensive, better-than-average bar menu and lots of Irish-pub atmosphere, as well as a pricier menu of creative American entrées. Sit in the beautiful back room (full of detailed wood wainscoting and 19th-century pews) and nosh on snacks like nachos and wings, or fill up on the very good Irish stew, fresh fish-and-chips, or more eclectic options like fajitas and cheese ravioli.

Calling all tandoori lovers: The fiery menu at India Queen Queen (44 S. Main St., Hanover, 603/643-6900, www.indiaqueenrestaurant.com, 11:30 a.m.–10:30 p.m. Mon.–Fri. $7–13) requires your attention. Opt for the chicken skewers if you’re looking for something sumptuous and skewered, or the mixed grill if you’re truly famished.

With its snazzy new bar added, Three Tomatoes Trattoria (1 Court St., Lebanon, 603/448-1711, www.threetomatoestrattoria.com, 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m. Mon.–Fri.; 5 p.m.–11 p.m. Sat.–Sun., $11–18) has gone from locally loved trattoria to evening destination. And to be sure, the place gets packed—mostly for the simply prepared, authentic Italian dishes that fly out of the wood-fired oven. That means thin-crust pizzas, pastas like the unforgettable seafood cannelloni, and lots of daily specials.

The attractive, spotlit dining room of Mai Thai Cuisine (44 S. Main St., Hanover, 603/643-9980, www.maithaicuisine.com, 12 p.m.–9:30 p.m. Mon.–Sat.; 5 p.m.–9 p.m. Sun., $8–15) happily caters to both Thai-food neophytes (with well-known staples like pad thai and spring rolls) and more adventurous eaters (with plates of pla douk pad ped, or catfish in spicy-sour sauce).
