Wall is home to the National Grasslands Visitor Center (708 Main St., 605/279-2125, summer daily 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., off-season Mon.–Fri. 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., closed Sat.–Sun.). The center features over 20 exhibits highlighting the history of the Great Plains, prairie plants, and animals, including the endangered black-footed ferret and its food source, the prairie dog.
A 25-minute film called America’s Grasslands is shown upon request. The center also has information about recreational opportunities in the grasslands.
