Polson
Trip Ideas
Polson (pop. 4,308, elev. 2,938 feet) is tucked into a glacial moraine at the foot of Flathead Lake, where the lower Flathead River drains from the lake and flows toward its junction with the Clark Fork around Paradise. Highway 93 takes a turn here and becomes an east-west road for its extremely busy run through Polson. It’s the seat of Lake County and the business center of Flathead Lake and the upper Mission Valley.
