The Many Glacier Hotel (406/892-2525, early June–late Sept., $135–255 d), a 200-room Swiss-style chalet in an isolated valley on Swiftcurrent Lake, has the loveliest setting in the park, with stunning views from the lobby windows. Geology comes right down to meet you here, and wildlife is often spotted on the slopes across the lake. If you plan to spend a significant amount of time in your room, splurge on the lake view ($160): The view is what makes this place; the rooms themselves evoke 1970s dorm rooms, and the walls are thin.
Less appealing than the lodge or cabins, but sometimes available on short notice, are motel rooms in the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn (406/892-2525, mid-June–mid-Sept., $107–124 d). Please note that the Pinetop Motor Inn facilities are among the park’s least desirable.
