Because Going-to-the-Sun Road is narrow and tortuous by modern standards, there is a limit on the size of vehicles allowed between Avalanche Campground on the western side of the Continental Divide and Sun Point to the east.
All vehicles (including towed campers) must measure less than 21 feet in length and less than eight feet in width (including mirrors). Vehicles taller than 10 feet may have trouble traveling westbound from Logan Pass to the Loop because of rock overhangs.
Bicycles are not allowed on Going-to-the-Sun Road from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. between June 15 and Labor Day. Contact the National Park Service for other cycling restrictions.
