Entrance Points
Trip Ideas
The two main park entrances are at Apgar (near West Glacier) on the western edge, and St. Mary on the east. These two points are linked by Going-to-the-Sun Road. On the western edge north of Apgar is the Polebridge entrance, which provides access to Bowman Lake and trails in the park’s remote northwestern corner.
Other entrances on the eastern edge of the park, Two Medicine and Many Glacier, have roads that dip just a short way into the park. Highways 49 and 89 form the main north-south road on the eastern edge of the park; from this highway about four miles north of the town of East Glacier, a short road leads in to Two Medicine Lake. The road to Many Glacier splits off Highway 89 at the town of Babb and travels nine miles to its terminus near the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn.
Continue north on Highway 89 to cross the border into Canada and visit Waterton Lakes National Park.
