Trip Ideas
Located 20 miles west of Anaconda in the Flint Creek Range, Discovery (406/563-2184, www.skidiscovery.com, $35 adult, $18 senior or child 12 and under) offers a vertical drop of 2,700 feet along 40 runs. Full rental facilities are available, as well as food and beverage services at the ski lodge. Discovery is known both for its ski school and for its lack of crowds. There’s no lodging at the ski area, but there are some reasonably priced small places nearby; Fairmont Hot Springs Resort offers package deals combining lodging and skiing.
