Just north of Rogers City on U.S. 23, Seagull Point Park (193 E. Michigan Ave.) draws visitors to its beautiful beach, curved like a scimitar. A wide band of soft sand and a gradual slope into Lake Huron create a perfect spot for beachcombers, sunbathers, and families.
Behind the beach, a two-mile interpretive trail winds through a series of low dunes, with signs along the route that identify the area’s natural history and accompanying flora and fauna.
Near the park, the Herman Vogler Conservation Area (240 W. Erie St., Rogers City, 989/734-4000) provides a quiet, car-free area on the Trout River. Five miles of nature trails are open to cross-country skiing in the winter.
