You might not think that one of the Midwest’s largest casinos would be situated in the Mount Pleasant area—instead of in a more tourist-centric place along the coast—but it might make more sense when you consider that the Indian-owned Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort (6800 Soaring Eagle Blvd., 888/732-4537, www.soaringeaglecasino.com, 24 hours daily, prices vary) is located next to the state’s largest Native American reservation, the Isabella Indian Reservation, home to the Saginaw Chippewa tribe.
With its enormous gaming area, six restaurants, and more than 500 well-appointed rooms, the resort can pack in a ton of partygoers at any given moment. Even if you don’t like gaming, you can still relax in one of the on-site pools or spend the day at the spa.
After dining in one of the resort’s eateries or fine restaurants, catch a show at the concert hall, where big-name entertainment often takes to the stage.
