The University of Michigan is a hotbed of live music and other performing arts. If you’re interested in such cultural pursuits, contact the University Musical Society (UMS) (734/764-2538, www.ums.org, show times and ticket prices vary), which oversees a wide assortment of choral and chamber concerts, dance and theatrical performances, jazz and piano series, even family-friendly shows.
Performance venues are situated throughout the campus, including the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre (911 N. University Ave.), the Hill Auditorium (825 N. University Ave.), and the Power Center for the Performing Arts (121 Fletcher St.), among others.
