Even the New Center District has its own gem: the
Cuisine Restaurant (670 Lothrop, 313/872-5110, www.cuisinedetroit.com, 4 p.m.–close Tues.–Sun., $22–90), situated behind the Fisher Building. If you’re willing to spend a fair amount, treat yourself to one of Chef Paul Grosz’ progression menus, which might include dishes like sea scallop in a citrus coconut glaze, lobster crab bisque, smoked salmon Caesar salad, creamed Alaskan halibut, roasted duck breast with buttered quinoa, and chocolate banana cake.
The restaurant also offers a vegetarian progression menu and a superb wine list.
