The Michigan Firehouse Museum (110 W. Cross St., 734/547-0663, www.michiganfirehousemuseum.org, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Tues.–Sat., noon–4 p.m. Sun., $3 adults, $1.50 children 6–15) offers a look at Michigan’s fire-fighting history, while also promoting fire safety and prevention.
The Ypsilanti Historical Museum (220 N. Huron St., 734/484-0080, www.ypsilantihistoricalsociety.org, 2–5 p.m. Sun.–Tues., free) provides a glance into Ypsilanti’s history since its founding in 1860.
Also in Ypsilanti, you’ll find the Riverside Arts Center (76 N. Huron St., 734/480-2787, www.riversidearts.org), which presents exhibits and performances in the theater space.
