You’ll work up quite an appetite exploring Rocheport and biking the Katy Trail, and Rocheport restaurants offer quite the culinary variety.
Try Abigail’s (206 Central St., 573/698-3000, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 5–9 p.m. Wed.–Sat., $8–30) for filling fare and a menu that changes daily, although you’ll want to make a reservation for dinner.
Head to the Trailside Cafe and Bike Shop (700 First St., 573/698-2702, www.trailsidecafebike.com, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Mon.–Tues., 9 a.m.–7 p.m. Thurs.–Fri., 8 a.m.–7 p.m. Sat., $5–10) to fill up before you hit the Katy Trail. Sandwiches (try the reuben special) and sides are simple yet satisfying, and you can take your pick from indoor or outdoor seating.
