Henry Doorly Zoo
Trip Ideas
Renowned as one of the premier zoos in the Midwest, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo (3701 S. 10th St., 402/738-2088, www.omahazoo.com, 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, $11.50 adult, $10 senior, $7.75 child) is a huge zoological park complete with exhibitions like Desert Dome, the world’s largest indoor desert.
Or travel into the dark depths of Kingdoms of the Night, the world’s largest nocturnal exhibit. Because day-night cycles are reversed, you can view nocturnal animals like naked mole rats, bats, and freshwater crocodiles in their natural habitat.
The Henry Doorly Zoo is also home to the Lozier IMAX theater, which hosts educational and animal-related 3-D movies with stunning sound and clarity.
Check the zoo’s website for an updated list of shows and showtimes.
