Wander the streets of a 16th-century village during the Renaissance Festival(Labor Day weekend through mid-October), one of Kansas City’s largest festivals. Witness the heart-pounding action of live jousting, or become hypnotized by a troupe of exotic belly dancers.

More than 500 costumed characters wander the tree-lined streets of the village. Hundreds of artisans display their work, and a mouthwatering array of food vendors serve the best in traditional Renaissance fare. Don’t leave the festival without trying its signature snack, the turkey leg.

For a complete and educational view of the festival and life during the Renaissance, take the living-history tour.
