Anyone with a hankering for a steak should head to the open-air restaurant La Ponderosa (Av. 14 de Julio between 17 and 18 Calles), which serves up generously portioned churrascos with salad and sliced plantains, as well as grilled chicken and pork, and shrimp 10 ways (US$9.50–12).
La Plancha (tel. 504/443-2304, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 5–11 p.m. daily), just off 9 Calle by the Esso gas station, near the stadium, serves arguably the best steaks in town, pinchos, and other hearty Honduran standards at US$8–12 per entrée in a two-story converted house, complete with linen tablecloths and napkins.
Cric-Crik Burgers (3 Calle and Av. 14 de Julio, 8 a.m.–11 p.m. daily), opposite Parque Bonilla, cooks up burgers and french fries for US$3 a plate.
