Diving Rules and Etiquette

Don’t dive alone.
Know your limitations, and only dive if you’re in good physical condition.
Always follow the dive tables.
Don’t anchor anywhere in or near coral — use the buoys.
Don’t litter or discharge foreign substances into the water.
When diving, always fly a diver-down flag and lower the flag when all divers are back on board. When passing moored boats, or boats flying a diving flag, always pass on the seaward side at least 50 meters (150 feet) away, even in a small boat.
Avoid contact with any living part of the reef.
Always observe proper buoyancy techniques and secure dangling equipment.
Never sit or stand on coral formations, or grab coral to steady yourself.
Don’t grab, poke, ride, or chase reef inhabitants.
Don’t feed the fish.
Don’t fish on the reef.
Don’t remove any marine organisms, alive or dead.
If you find garbage on the reef, gently remove it and bring it back to shore.
Take only photographs; leave only bubbles.
