The bars and discos of Guanaja are not for the meek, filled as they are with rough characters who are always ready for a brawl, but they can be a good time if you know how to look after yourself. There are discos in Bonacca, Savanna Bight, and Mangrove Bight.
The bars at Bo’s and the other resorts can be fun places to spend the evening, and rather more relaxed.
The Pirate’s Den Bar (tel. 504/453-4308, 8 a.m.–2 p.m. and 5:30–9:30 p.m. daily) in Bonacca is a decent place to stop by for a beer in the afternoon.
