These border offices, infrequently used compared to Guasaule (much to the chagrin of the local officials), are open daily 8 a.m.–6 p.m.
Minivans provide bus service to the border at El Espino, 11 kilometers away by paved road, and cost US$0.60, although drivers will often try to charge you more returning to town from the border. They run all day and usually leave when they fill up. From San Marcos, the minivans leave from next to the market, right by the buses.
