Most tourist destinations in Honduras do not require any guides. For some hiking, boating, or other naturalist or cultural trips, specialized guides may be worth the extra cost, and these are discussed in the relevant chapters.

Several companies offer more general services, like tours of the main highlights or particular regions of the country, that may appeal to those in a group, on a limited schedule, or who simply want everything arranged ahead of time to ensure a smooth trip. Transportation services like chauffeured buses or cars are also available. Those listed below have been in operation for a number of years and cover essentially all parts of the country.
