Two recommended spots are Diva Spa (tel. 504/521-6106, 7 Calle NO between 18 and 19 Av.) and Salon and Spa Carmen Alicia Unisex (tel. 504/552-2259, Av. Circunvalación, between 5 and 6 Calle), both of which offer salon services as well as spa treatments like massages and mud wraps.
At bare-bones Fuente de Salud y Juventud (7 Calle SO between 19 and 20 Av., tel. 504/552-0407), even penny-pinchers can indulge, given the rock-bottom price of US$8.50 for a one-hour massage. The health food shop-slash-massage parlor opens at 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday, closing in the late afternoon, except Fridays when it closes at noon.
