Below Mohave Point, you can see three of the canyon’s 160-plus rapids: From left to right are Hermit, Granite, and Salt Creek Rapids.
Most rapids on the Colorado River through Grand Canyon were formed when boulders washed down tributary canyons after flash floods.
A long, narrow formation, the Alligator, stretches from the point into the canyon below. The cliffs to the east are known as the Hopi Wall.
