Bright Angel Point

Bright Angel Point, a peninsula extending between the Transept and Roaring Springs Canyon, is the heart of the North Rim, where nearly all services are located, including the lodge, visitor center, and campground.

Past the lodge, the peninsula narrows and descends to jut out over the canyon like a diving board. You can walk to the very tip on the Bright Angel Point Trail, which hugs the side of a ridge so thin it offers stunning views on both sides. The Kaibab limestone along the trail bears fossilized remains of marine life.

Near the end of the peninsula, you may be able to hear Roaring Springs, the source of the canyon’s drinking water, 3,100 feet below.
