The Center for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife or CROW (3883 Sanibel-Captiva Rd., 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Tues.–Sun., free) recently opened a visitor education center to highlight the center’s work in rescuing and rehabilitating the native wildlife of Sanibel. The center treats more than 4,000 animals each year, and the primary role of the small visitors center is to raise awareness in order to bring that number down; most of the displays are designed to simultaneously impress on guests the diversity of the area’s wildlife while teaching them what they can do to reduce the number of animals injured or threatened by human development.
