You: a bevy of swimsuits, sarongs, sunglasses, and trashy novels. The Dominican Republic: a plethora of dreamy beaches waiting for you to write your name in the sand, from manicured all-inclusive resort beaches to wild, remote hideaway coves. This is a winning combination.
Aura Beach House at Juan Dolio is, by far, the sexiest lounging spot for sophisticated beachgoers who want to simply pass the day at the beach but definitely don’t want to rough it. Let’s face it. All you want to do is get wet and then get hot in the sun, right? That makes Aura an ultra-sexy spot. Beds canopied with white fabric give optional shady spots (or privacy).
The beach at Bahía Principe Clubs and Resorts in Bávaro is a spot where you can mix with other sun-worshippers and order a cocktail in the sand.
Playa Limón on La Costa Esmeralda is popular with excursion tours because of its exquisitely beautiful coconut groves.
At Cayo Levantado, in the Bahía de Samaná, bathtub-warm waters await you after a catamaran ride with Victoria Marine.
Playa Rincón on the Samaná Peninsula is best reached by boat. This stunning sandy stretch is backed by a thick forest of palms. You can find boat captains at Playa Las Galeras in town willing to take you to the other secluded beaches on the tip of the peninsula, including Playa Frontón and Playa Madama.
The beaches of Cabarete: Bozo Beach, Kite Beach, and Cabarete are wonderful people-watching places even if you aren’t into the water sports that have made them internationally famous — kiteboarding, surfing, and windsurfing. Lively nighttime entertainment can be found all along Playa Cabarete.
