For a one-of-a-kind dining experience in the West, The Fort is the place to go. Inspired by a drawing of a historic fort, Sam Arnold bought the land in the 1960s and hired a crew to build, or re-create, a true 1840s fort. When it wasn’t feasible as a private home, Mr. Arnold decided to make it a restaurant and studied cooking so that he could provide only the best ingredients and menu.
Today The Fort offers what can only be described as exotic Western, with a large variety of game meats, trout, Rocky Mountain oysters, Southwestern spices, and other unexpected culinary delights. There is a gift shop on-site as well.
