Whether you’re visiting Denver for business or pleasure, you’ll find there is an accommodation to meet the needs of every kind of traveler. While downtown is certainly geared towards executives and conventioneers, Denver’s most luxurious and elegant hotels are sprinkled throughout the city’s historic districts. Hotels such as the Brown Palace, the Oxford, and the Teatro are not only wonderful places to stay overnight but also home to some of the city’s top-notch restaurants and bars.

Hotels like the Monaco and the Magnolia have made wonderful use of historic buildings in downtown, as have bed-and-breakfasts in Capitol Hill and City Park, where spectacularly restored mansions now offer regal and comfortable rooms for romantic getaways or business travel.

Most of Denver’s accommodations are within walking distance of many recommended sights, shops, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and recreational areas. Beyond the core neighborhoods of the city, there are plenty of airport hotels and a couple of intriguing inns.

When Denver International Airport opened on the plains northeast of the city in the 1990s, the nearest hotels were still located near the old Stapleton Airport a few miles east of downtown. Stapleton is now a large infill community and the hotels managed to survive. Now both the Stapleton and the Denver International Airport areas offer a selection of brand-new or refurbished hotels nearby, typically offering free shuttle service to the airport.
