In one festive night every year, downtown streets and buildings go from just lit up at night to brightly lit with thousands of colorful holiday lights.
Things kick off at Union Station in LoDo, where carolers sing and officials countdown to the flip of the switch when a large tree made of strings of lights and the building itself suddenly glow.
The 16th Street Mall (where energy-efficient LED lights are used), Larimer Square, and the City and County Building all turn on their yellow, red, green, and blue lights as huge crowds gather to watch and take part in the festivities.
