The Fundación Naturaleza y El Hombre (Foundation of Man and Nature, Av. 5B #6611, e/ 66 y 70, tel. 07/209-2885, halcma [at] fanj [dot] cult [dot] cu, Mon.–Fri. 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., CUC2) honors Cuban naturalist and explorer Antonio Nuñez Jiménez and features his personal collection.
Much of the eclectic exhibit is dedicated to the 10,889-mile journey by a team of Cubans (led by Nuñez) that paddled from the source of the Amazon to the Bahamas in dugout canoes in 1996.
A replica of the canoe is there, along with indigenous artifacts such as weapons, headdresses, and ceramics showing figures copulating and masturbating.
