The 10-day biennial Festival Internacional de Teatro (International Theater Festival of Havana), sponsored by the Consejo Nacional de Artes Escénicas (National Council of Scenic Arts, Calle 4 #257, Miramar, tel. 07/832-4126), is held in odd-numbered years and features international theater companies covering drama, street theater, musicals, and dance.

The Festival Internacional de Ballet (International Ballet Festival) features ballet corps from around the world, plus the acclaimed Ballet Nacional de Cuba (BNC, Calzada #510, e/ D y E, Vedado, Ciudad Habana, tel. 07/832-4625, www.balletcuba.cult.cu).
The annual Festival de la Habana de Música Contemporánea (Havana Festival of Contemporary Music, c/o UNEAC, Calle 17 #351, e/ G y H, Vedado, tel. 07/832-0194, www.uneac.com.cu) spans a week in early October, with performances ranging from choral to electro-acoustic.
November
Expo Canina (tel. 07/641-9006, balance [at] minag [dot] cu) is Havana’s answer to the Crufts and Westminster dog shows. It also has a show in April.
