One of the best options is the northern riverfront’s
Hostal Río de Luna (Av. Prat 695, tel. 063/253333, www.hostalriodeluna.cl, US$45/60 s/d), an inviting place with friendly management and bright natural light in nearly all the rooms. Amenities include cable TV and wireless Internet; with off-season discounts, this is a particularly good value.
Hotel Isla Teja (Las Encinas 220, tel. 063/215014, www.hotelislateja.cl, US$65/74 s/d) occupies wooded grounds across the river.
At Hotel Melillanca (Av. Alemania 675, tel. 063/212509, www.melillanca.cl, US$56/76–77/97 s/d), a modern, central high-rise whose windows feature flower-filled planter boxes, rates include a buffet breakfast.
