Reserva Biológica Huilo Huilo
Trip Ideas
Midway between Neltume and Puerto Fuy, Huilo Huilo is a sprawling private nature reserve on the east side of Volcán Choshuenco, whose permanent snow cover provides an ample area for what, normally, would be a winter-only activity. Most visitors, though, make just a short detour off the international highway to visit the Saltos Huilo Huilo, a 37-meter waterfall that tumbles through a volcanic notch to the river below.
Admission to visit the falls at the Reserva Biológica Huilo Huilo (Ruta 203, Km 60, tel. 063/1972651, www.huilohuilo.cl) costs US$4 per person; for information on skiing and other activities, consult their website.
