Hotel Lago del Desierto (Lago del Desierto 137, tel. 02962/493010, hotelldd [at] infovia [dot] com [dot] ar, US$70 s or d with breakfast) closes May–October; it also rents six-bed cabañas with kitchen facilities (US$120) and has camping facilities (US$3 pp). Comparably priced Hostería Kalenshen (Lionel Terray 50, tel. 02962/493108, kalenshen [at] videodata [dot] com [dot] ar, US$75 s or d with breakfast) is a promising new option.

At the entrance to town, Hotel La Aldea (Av. Güemes 95, tel. 02962/493040, www.hotellaaldea.com.ar, US$58/76 s/d with breakfast) is a motel-style complex; the rooms are separate from a two-story reception that also includes a restaurant and bar.

Rates at the venerable (by Chaltén standards) Fitz Roy Inn (San Martín 520, tel. 02962/493062, caltur [at] cotecal [dot] com [dot] ar, US$78/82 s/d with breakfast) drop considerably outside the November–March high season; it also has multiday packages with half board or full board, but the full-board option would preclude eating at other good places.
