Boutique del Libro (Av. Libertador 1033, tel. 02902/491363) carries a broad selection of books (many in English) on Antarctica, Argentina, and Patagonia, including Moon Handbooks. There are also English-language novels.
For premium chocolates, try Ovejitas de la Patagonia (Av. Libertador 1118, tel. 02902/491736), Laguna Negra (Av. Libertador 1250, tel. 02902/492423), or any of several similar locales.
Recently, trendy Buenos Aires design and fashion shops have installed themselves here. Cardón (Av. Libertador 1003, Local 1, tel. 02902/492074), for instance, is a casual clothing counterpart to Esprit or Patagonia. Pampa (Av. Libertador 1179, tel. 02902/491305) and Pueblo Indio (Av. Libertador and 9 de Julio, tel. 02902/492528) carry high-end crafts including ceramics, silverwork, and tapestries, from around the country.
