The Comitán Archaeological Museum (1a Calle Sur Ote. btwn. Av. Rosario Castellanos and 2a Av. Ote. Sur, tel. 963/632-5760, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Tues.–Sun., free) traces the history of the Maya in Chiapas and has an impressive collection of artifacts from nearby archaeological zones, especially those found in tombs.
Don’t miss the Sala Tenam Puente, which showcases items from the namesake site—the room is easy to miss as it’s located across the courtyard from the rest of the museum. If it’s locked, ask the guard; more often than not he’ll open it for you. Signage is in Spanish only.
