The Westin Charlotte $$$
601 S. College St., Charlotte
COST: Over $250 per night
With 700 rooms ($239–359 d), the Westin is the largest hotel in Uptown and offers all of the hallmarks of the Westin brand, including the signature Heavenly Bed, but it’s the other features that help make it feel like less of a corporate brand.
The on-site spa offers all of the standard treatments—manicure, pedicure, facial, massage—but also offers the in-room massage treatments that are more common in boutique hotels.
The hotel also has a fitness center, indoor heated lap pool, and a sauna. Some of the rooms are designated WestinWORKOUT rooms, equipped with a treadmill or stationary bike, workout DVDs, free weights, core-training equipment, a fitness library, and bottled water.
The hotel also offers other quirky amenities (ask for the Heavenly dog bed!). Request a city-view room to soak up the Charlotte skyline.
