Piedmont Craftsman is a craft guild that was founded by local artists in 1963. Close to 400 artists belong to the guild and exhibit their work at the Piedmont Craftsman Gallery. The shop rotates exhibits, showcasing the work of up to 200 member artists at a time.
The range of work is impressive. Look for miniature pieces of glass, fanciful metal sculptures, hand-carved wooden furniture, colorful quilts, and functional clay bowls. Some of the pieces are surprisingly affordable, while others rival a monthly mortgage payment.
Since every piece was handmade by a local artist, all gallery purchases support the community.
