Perhaps it’s because the Inn at Ragged Gardens was used as a summer home when it was built in the 1900s that the inn still feels like a private home.
Each of the 12 suites ($145–325 d) has its own appeal. The English Lavender room is the smallest, but as one of the home’s original bedrooms it’s big on historic charm. The carriage house is a two-bedroom cottage with a private deck and a separate entrance. It’s available to be rented by the night, the week, or even the month.
The period architecture in the common areas includes chestnut paneled walls, stone fireplace, and glass-enclosed dining room that have helped the inn retain its historic charm.
