There are 10 miles of trails running throughout the 727-acre Reedy Creek Park and Nature Preserve. The land was initially developed in 1745; over the next 200 years the property was subdivided and occupied by several prominent local families. The city acquired the land in 1981 and turned it into a park.

There are still traces of its past use throughout the park. The ruins of Robinson Rockhouse, a stone home that dates back to 1790, is the most prominent. The Robinson Rockhouse Trail leads to the ruins.

The nature center is the gateway to the park, with a few decent interpretive exhibits and park maps available.
