It’s no secret that there are a lot of great restaurants in Charlotte. The first weekend in June, the best local eateries strut their stuff at Taste of Charlotte.
The first event was held in 1999, with just 23 local restaurants, and it has grown to include 30 restaurants serving up more than 100 different menu items. Local favorites such as Mert’s Heart and Soul, Amelie’s…A French Bakery, Village Bistro, and Fuel Pizza have all participated in the event, which draws crowds topping 100,000.
The “Tavern at the Taste” tent pours wines and specialty brews. There is entertainment in addition to the food, with live bands and strolling street performers appearing throughout the weekend. “Best of the Taste” awards are handed out on Friday evening.
