Set in a lovely Mexican-style dining room as well as under a palapa by the pool, the restaurant at Club Med Villas Uxmal (Carr. Mérida-Campeche Km. 76, tel. 997/974-6020, 7:30 a.m.–10 p.m., US$5–18) offers a decent international menu. Service is good and the ambiance is typically mellow. A good place to relax after a day at the ruins.
Conveniently situated just outside of Uxmal’s entrance is the restaurant at The Lodge at Uxmal (tel. 997/976-2010, 7 a.m.–10 p.m., US$5–20). Although it’s often busy with tour groups, it’s a good place to stop for a variety of food—from Mexican specialties to pastas and sandwiches. If you’re really hungry, opt for the Yucatecan buffet, which is offered for all meals (US$10). Live music often is performed at peak hours too.
