Restaurante Isla Contoy (end of Calle 19, tel. 986/862-0000, 8 a.m.–9 p.m. daily, US$4.50–11) is a good spot to get breakfast after an early-morning tour although it’s a decent option at any time. Breakfast specials mostly include eggs, beans, and coffee; for lunch or dinner the specialty is seafood, including filete, shrimp cocktail, and ceviche.
A simple eatery, Los Negritos (Calle 10 s/n, no phone, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. daily, US$4–10) serves good Mexican fare—the seafood is especially good. Located on the main road near the entrance of town.
