Small Inns and B&Bs
Trip Ideas
Mérida has a profusion of charming little inns and bed-and-breakfasts, and staying in one is a highlight for many visitors. Virtually all are restored casonas (large colonial homes) whose resurrection has been a labor of love for an expatriate couple. The inns vary from faithful replicas of colonial residences to miniature museums full of folk and modern art, but all are very comfortable and classy. Most listed here have fewer than 10 rooms, so it’s best to call ahead or reserve online.
