Cancún has dozens of excellent restaurants—from Cajun to Japanese, and vegetarian to Argentinean steak houses. The finest restaurants are in the Zona Hotelera, mostly along the west side of Boulevard Kukulcán or in the high-end hotels.
Eating out in the Zona Hotelera is by no means cheap—in fact, it can be shockingly expensive, especially for lobster, imported steaks, and specialty items. Fast-food restaurants like Subway, McDonald’s, and Burger King are less pricey and ubiquitous in the Zona Hotelera.
For something more authentic but still affordable, downtown Cancún is the place to go, especially the bustling central plaza, Parque Las Palapas. There, and on surrounding streets, you’ll find restaurants for all tastes and budgets, from fine dining to tasty street food, plus a number of great little cafés and sandwich shops.
