Parque Garrafón Eco-Park
Trip Ideas
Built on a sloping bluff at the southern end of Isla Mujeres, Parque Garrafón (Carr. Garrafón Km. 6, tel. 998/849-4748, www.garrafon.com, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, US$55–99 adult all-inclusive, US$39–75 child all-inclusive) is a combo ecopark and water park.
There are a variety of activities to choose from—snorkeling, kayaking, zip lining—as well as just relaxing on the beach or by the pool. Admission to Templo Ixchel, Isla Mujeres’s tiny Maya ruin, and the sculpture garden leading up to it, also is included.
On the whole, it’s a pretty place, but there’s not much to do here that you can’t just do for free, or for a fraction of the cost, elsewhere.
