Literally hundreds of wineries call Napa Valley home. You could spend weeks tasting wine here and not hit every vintner. Know that you can’t visit a dozen wineries in a day—tasting wine takes time and rubs your mouth raw.
Following is a small selection of Napa wineries—some large, some small, all worth visiting—organized from south to north along Highway 29. Choose five or six for a full day of tasting.
- Domaine Chandon
- Jessup Cellars
- Grgich Hills
- Opus One
- Peju
- Rubicon
- Rutherford Hill
- V. Sattui
- Flora Springs
- Beringer Vineyards
- Sterling Vineyards
- Cuvasion
Consider joining one of the several tours or hiring a driver. You’ll not only avoid the traffic headache, but you won’t need to select a designated driver.
