The Calistoga Inn (1259 Lincoln Ave., 707/942-4101, www.calistogainn.com, $90–140) gives guests an old-school hotel experience, complete with shared bathrooms and showers. The inn, in continuous operation for over 100 years, offers a continental breakfast each morning, an English pub downstairs that serves lunch and dinner, and perhaps the best bargain rooms in the whole of Napa Valley.
Each of the 18 guest rooms provides a small, cozy haven with a queen bed, simple furnishings, and a view of the town. Be sure to make reservations in advance—at these prices, rooms go quickly especially in summer and fall! And be aware that the pub downstairs has live music acts four nights a week, so the party can get loud (and fun!) on weekends.
